The exhibition entitled ´Birth of a Museum´, open to the public until July 20 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, is a sneak preview of what to expect from Louvre Abu Dhabi in 2015, when the Arab version of the French museum opens its doors.
A total of 130 pieces, from different means, eras and civilizations, acquired by team Louvre Abu Dhabi over the past five years, will be showcased in style.
Visitors will navigate through six different themes that potrait the ecos between cultures. They will also be able to check out important works by renowned artists, including Bellini, Monet, Gauguin and Picasso - his ´Portrait of a Lady´, never before shown, will finally make its debut.
According to the curator Laurence des Cars, from the Agence France-Muséums in Paris, the exhibition is ´a reflection of universalism and also of the potential of Louvre Abu Dhabi.´
